Lassco – salvaged treasures

August 16th 2010

After our West London jaunt last weekend, we went South this Sunday, to check out Lassco – a treasure trove of salvaged curios and antiques housed in an impressive Georgian mansion (albeit curiously positioned on a busy road junction surrounded by ugly tower blocks!). Poking around it is like being in a grand country house – except everything you see is for sale! From lighting and ceramic tiles to bathtubs and vintage books, everything was up for grabs at quite reasonable prices.

You can see all current stock on the website but I recommend you pop down to the showroom – it’s right next to Vauxhall tube station.

Lynne – we'd already eaten just around the corner at the Bonnington cafe – a veggie community-run caff – but the on-site cafe did look [and smell!] very lovely.
