Grand Designs: Corkellis House

October 21st 2010

Sorry for another interiors post so soon, but I fell in love with Kathryn Tyler‘s beautiful Scandinavian-inspired house featured on Grand Designs last night; after the show, I immediately got on teh Googles to find photos to squirrel away.

The calming mix of a textural boxy structure filled with midcentury pre-loved furniture finds and a gorgeous palette of grey with bright accents is exactly what I hope to achieve in my new house.

More photos here.

Now that's quite a lovely house. I only caught the last 5 minutes of that episode, unfortunately. It's nice to see more of it.

Hey there – Emma here (ex Poker). I now live in Falmouth and know Kathryn (we were both at college together). In fact, my fella did a lot of work on the house, including the staircase/shelf thing ;) It is indeed a very lovely house, coupled with the fact that she has the most amazing collection of 20th century design pieces.

Hi Emma, Tom H actually told me about your hubby working on the house! I found his site, love his work especially that lovely little birdhouse book shelf.. shame you're not in London so he can pimp our new house (not that I could afford it..!). x
