Boden’s little brand book

September 15th 2011

Confession: I pinched the new Boden catalogue from my mail box even though it was addressed to an old tenant of my flat. But rather than fawn over the clothes – lovely though they are, I think just a touch too old for me – I was drawn to this little brand leaflet stuck in the middle. The lovely design team were kind enough to send me these spreads to share on here.

Impressively, all of the graphic design is done in-house, which probably explains why the tone and feel of the branding is just right and complements the clothes so well.

I love the bold colour palettes, playful yet practical tone, and the fact that they’re not afraid to throw criticism and negative comments into the mix.

Well played, Boden!

My Boden catlogue is sitting in my lounge right now- good to know I have something to look forward to! The clothes are mainly too old for me too, though I’ve got a cashmere blazer from them that I love. The design is fun too and I like reading all the silly questions that the models answer. Thanks for sharing the cool designs!

Gorgeous design, love the colours. Paid close attention to the send moths packing section, there’s loads in my flat!

    Lovely designs!!
And to think, the clothes are plain compared to these. Very happy. Loved the “modeling a merkin” piece. They have good copywriters too. Well done!

Oh how I love the Boden printed garb! Always a quirky angle, always Bodeny and yet, always different and interesting.

I always get sucked into Boden catalogues, but like you I’m not quite ready to buy anything from it yet.

I’ve a funny feeling I’m getting to the age where I’m slap bang in the middle of Boden’s target market… oh well, time waits for no man! Now I know why you wanted to know about Boden on Twitter. I do LOVE pretty info-graphics…

I liked this a lot, too. It’s funny, this was the issue where they were going to shoot some of it, well the Mini Boden catalogue, actually, at The Make Lounge! To tie in with the handmade vibe. But alas, we were a little bit too far away from their other shoot locations to do in one day. :(

Wow thank you so much for the lovely feedback. I designed the Boden Miscellany notebook spreads and a friend very kindly sent me your link. It was a real joy to work on, especially as I could work from home and nurse my lovely cat Kippax in his last months of illness. He sat on my knee while I worked and occasionally made interesting spelling adjustments by parking his backside on the keyboard. Or maybe they were just comments on my design! The other very lovely designs were by the gorgeous and talented 2 Lauras in the Boden marketing design team, so big hooray to them. Many thanks again and cheerio. Mully x

Sarah, so glad you found my blog and thanks for your lovely reply, so sweet about your cat. My cat sits on my lap as I’m working sometimes too! xx
