What a fun giveaway, Katie! My favorite flower isn’t original in any way, but the peonies recently back in the shops are making me swoon with delight! Fingers crossed for the ballet at Kew. Thanks!

Wow – what a great idea, ballet on the water! My favourite flower should really be a rose, as it’s my name, but I love lily of the valley – it’s delicate and beautiful with the most wonderful scent :)

I find it really difficult to choose a favourite flower, I like so many of them! I do especially love lupins though, they come in such beautiful colours and there’s something almost fairytale-ish about them. For herbs, I adore the zesty scent of lemonbalm and the ease with which it can be made into a tisane, lavender and chamomile are also favourites for their soothing properties and lovely scents.

I love mint; it can be seen as such a generic herb but its scent is amazing in not only cooking and drinks but perfume, candles and bath stuff!

Tulips are the winner every time! And as for favourite herb I can’t possibly pick because we tend to name our pets after herbs (haha, tis true) and picking a fave pet is impossible.

Fingers crossed for the ballet, my best friend and I were talking about booking some tickets the other day so this would be a perfect ballet fix for us! Xxxx

Picking a fav flower and herb both super tough… I did get a mixed bunch of flowers with yellow roses in the other day and was surprised how much I liked them (never thought of myself as much of a rose girl). And life would be a little bit less good without coriander in it, that’s for sure.

What a wonderful competition, and what a dream to go!

My favourite flower, as my screen name would suggest, is the violet – the scent is divine, the colour is beautiful and there is something so vintage and timeless about it. I like that it’s a rarely used flavour/scent too, makes it special and like my little secret.

    Hi Katie,

My favourite is MINT! Mint because the leaves, simply brewed alone, make one of the most beautiful and elegant of teas, also, mint is one of the most beautiful herbs to use as foliage with a bunch of peonie roses. It looks simply stunning and smells divine for Spring :)

This sounds like a truly magical evening! I love Kew Gardens, I love ballet, I love tea! It is also my best friend’s birthday that day and being of Russian descent, she is a great fan of ballet — what a treat this evening would be for her! In terms of flavour, I’d love to try Blackberry & Elderflower because for me, it is the perfect symbol of British summer: fruits, flowers, and tea in the garden!
